20th August 2015 – Serbian most reputable daily newspaper “Politika” published the article on the Diplomatic Sports Day 2015, the event organized by the Embassy in cooperation with the Serbia-Malaysia Social and Business Forum and the Jet Ski Association of Serbia as a public diplomacy program aimed to promote sports, healthy lifestyle and the ASEAN in the Republic of Serbia.

BREATH TAKEN AWAY ON THE SAVA RIVER
Last weekend in the “Biser” (*Pearl) Nautical Village in Boljevci looked like a holiday celebration, which proved, once again, that sports knows no boundaries.
The second and third race of the National Jet Ski Championship were organized by the Serbian Jet Ski Association and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Performance of the competitors from the Jet Ski Association of Serbia left numerous visitors breathless. Igor Perazic, Mirko Mirkovic and Aleksandar Ivkovic are only a few among those who wowed the audience along the Sava riverbank in the peaceful surroundings of Srem (*area in Serbia where the nautical village is located), which hosted Jet Ski competition for a very first time.
The Diplomatic Sports Day, organized by the Embassy of Malaysia in cooperation with the Jet Ski Association of Serbia, was also held. The program of the event included beach football and volleyball tournaments between the youngest representatives of the diplomatic corps and the students of the “Vojvoda Radomir Putnik” Elementary School from Belgrade.
The competition was solemnly opened by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy in the presence of the ambassadors of Tunisia and Myanmar, who felt very close to the Serbian people due to the welcoming and hospitable atmosphere created, among others, by the staff of the “Tourism Surcin” Public Enterprise.
The most interesting part of the sports weekend was the “Belgrade Jet Ski Trophy”, which was organized by the Jet Ski Association of Belgrade and held under the auspices of the Belgrade City Hall - Secretariat for Youth and Sports. More than 50 youngsters from Belgrade’s Jet Ski clubs participated in the competition, from the pioneer to the junior category. The show off part of the competition featured races for the youngest, but also for the children who have not had a chance to get acquainted with the sport of Jet Ski before.
Special attraction for the audience was the performance of the 11-year old Boris Ilijin from Zemun, who impressed the spectators with his outstanding skill of driving a standing jet ski.
