MORE THAN 50 BOOTHS IN FRONT OF THE MALAYSIAN EMBASSY’S BUILDING

 

ANNUAL BAZAAR TO HELP CHILDREN

 

The luckiest visitor won the ticket to Kuala Lumpur

 

The Charity Bazaar, held for the fourth time in front the building of the Embassy of Malaysia in Krajiska Street, attracted many visitors. Regardless of heavy raining in the area during morning hours, the visitors enjoyed the event. Traditional Malaysian food and drinks, as well as promotion and entertainment were offered at as high as 50 booths, while all the proceeds from the event will be channeled to the “Nasa deca” (*Our Children) Association from Belgrade.

 

The cultural program at the main stage offered entertainment throughout the day and the highlight of the event was the Charity Raffle with more than 200 prizes. The luckiest one had a chance to win return flight ticket to Kuala Lumpur, state capital of this Asian country.

 

-           Besides the booths, we also have between 20-30 companies who supported the organization of the Malaysian Charity Bazaar by making donations – said Ms. Ivana Popovic, one of the organizers. – This event traditionally attracts lot of visitors, so when took a break last year, a large number of Belgrade citizens were disappointed.

 

Most of the visitors were gathering around the booths with traditional Malaysian food, where they had the opportunity to sample grilled chicken and beef on sticks, peanut sauce, rice with prawns, or pastries stuffed with curry and potatoes. For those who don’t like to experiment, there were barbecue specialties, ice cream and wide selection of beverages, while many artists presented their creativity at the event itself. Children were entertained by a clown and magicians, while the visitors had the opportunity to see the traditional Malaysian costumes fashion show.

~          PROCEEDS TO THE ASSOCIATION:

Every year, the Malaysian Charity Bazaar is raising funds to help children. All the proceeds from the first Malaysian Charity Bazaar were channeled to the Home for the Children Without Parental Care “Jovan Jovanovic-Zmaj”. In the years that followed, the Malaysian Charity Bazaar helped the maternity wards in Aleksinac and Knjazevac and the schools in Medvedja and Sjenica. This year, the proceeds will be channeled to the Creative Center “Nasa deca” (*Our Children) from Mirijevo, which helps and supports persons with special needs.
