Mr. Lim and directors present took the opportunity to brief the students on their respective portfolio and interact with the students.
Mr. Saravana Kumar, Director (Visa) took the opportunity to highlight the occurrences of late passport renewal among students (with expired passport or very near to expiry date). Such instances may land the students in trouble and subsequent penalty may disrupt their studies. In this regard, Mr. Saravana advised student leaders to spread the news that Malaysian who wishes to apply for new passport should submit their application 6 months before the expiry date. Starting 1 January 2011, passport application will take 3 months as passport application has to be sent to the Immigration Department in Putrajaya, Malaysia for processing and issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP).
