As part of the outreach program to offer the consular services to about 11,500 Malaysians living in Taiwan, the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei has opened a consular services counter at the Shangri La Far Eastern Hotel in the south city of Tainan, 300 kilometers from Taipei on December 15, 2012. The counter, opened from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm, had offered consular services to 70 Malaysians mostly students from Cheng Kung University. Among the consular services required by the Malaysians during that day were Voter Registration, Conversion of Malaysian Driving License into Taiwanese Driving License, Birth Registration and Application of Certificate of Good Conduct.
