MFTC welcomes Taiwan government's decision to reciprocate Malaysia's hospitality by extending the automated immigration clearance system or "e-gate" facility to Malaysian citizens effective today, Nov 7, 2024.

At the "Launching Ceremony of the Mutual Use of Automated Immigration Clearance System between Malaysia and Taiwan" today, H.E. Interior Minister Liu Shyh-fang stated that Malaysia is the 7th country to complete reciprocal use of the system with Taiwan, after the US, South Korea, Australia, Italy, Germany and Singapore. She further said that this joint effort between Malaysia and Taiwan will deepen the exchanges between both sides.

Prior to this, Malaysia announced its decision to allow Taiwan passport holders to use its e-gate system when entering and leaving Malaysia starting June 1, 2024.
