A networking reception in conjunction with Chinese Lunar New Year with Malaysian Diaspora in Taipei was held on 23 February 2011 at Nyonya Taste Restaurant.
The reception organized by the Trade Division of MFTC was to enhance the networking between Malaysians living and working in Taipei, towards enhancing bilateral trade and investment promotion in Taiwan.
The networking reception was attended by nearly 40 Malaysians, comprising officials of the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, professionals, businessmen, student leaders and friends of Malaysia in Taipei.
In welcoming the guests, Mr. Muhd Shahrulmiza Zakaria, Director (Trade) informed the participants opportunities available under Malaysian Kitchen Programme managed by MATRADE to promote Malaysian restaurant overseas.
During his opening remarks, Mr. Lim You Rang, Acting President of MFTC informed all participants of the establishment of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in Taipei under the Malaysian Residents Overseas Club since 16 February 2011. The Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in Taipei serves as a platform not just to strengthen bonding of Malaysians in Taiwan but also to update participants on business opportunities and other selected issues.
Nyonya Taste Restaurant is the newest Malaysian restaurant in Taipei, offering authentic Penang Cuisine to its customers. The guests were delighted to be served white rice/fried rice, green curry, fried chicken wings, sambal udang, acar, prawn vegetable, teh tarik / white coffee, as well as mouth-watering desserts such as bubur cha-cha, kuih lapis, karipap and cucur badak.
