On 24 May 2019, His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah presented the Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Salome Zourabichvili, President of Georgia by which the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong accredited His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Georgia with residence in Kyiv, Ukraine. Nine other Non-Resident Ambassadors presented their credentials at the same time during a formal ceremony with all the pomp and circumstance at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi. It was also the first Presentation of Credentials ceremony held since President Zourabichvili took office last December.
His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza conveyed to the President and through Her Excellency to the Government and people of Georgia the warmest greetings and best wishes from the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and from the friendly people of Malaysia. He noted the warm relations between Malaysia and Georgia underpinned by mutual respect and as he assumes his responsibilities as the Ambassador of Malaysia to Georgia, His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza expressed his commitment to make every effort to further enhance bilateral cooperation in potential fields as well as to strengthen links between Malaysia and Georgia.
Besides attending the Presentation of Credential ceremony, His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza also called on senior Georgian government officials including the Chairman of the Parliament, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
Meanwhile on 26 May 2019, His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza had the privilege of attending the annual celebration on the occasion of Independence Day of Georgia as well as the State Reception hosted by the President of Georgia.
