Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Chuah Teong Ban made a courtesy call on Prof. Sergiy I. Sidorernko, Vice Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine or better known as “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI)” on 10 September 2012. KPI is a top notch technical university in Ukraine where many renowned Soviet scientists who designed and invented many military defence equipment and arsenals, among others, rockets, jet engines, firearms, helicopters and fighters planes were graduated from. During the call, both sides discussed the potential areas of bilateral cooperation that could further consolidate the close collaboration and ties between Malaysian higher education institutes and KPI, particularly in the technical and engineering fields. After the call, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was taken on a tour of the campus to see first-hand the various facilities, laboratories, resource centers and the museums.
H.E. Ambassador Chuah also seized the occasion to discuss and lay the groundwork and preparations for the impending working visit of DYTM Tuanku Raja Muda Perlis, HRH Tuanku Brig. Gen. Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail ibni DYMM TUanku Syed Sirajuddin and DYMM Raja Puan Muda Perlis HRH Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil to Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on 17 September 2012. DYTM Tuanku Raja Muda Perlis would be leading a delegation from the PALAPES and senior officials from University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) under the Academics and Strategic Warfare Study Trip to Ukraine from 15 to 17 September 2012.
