H.E. Mr. Chuah Teong Ban, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Leonid Kuchma, 2nd President of Ukraine (1994 – 2005) on 9 November 2012. H.E. Ambassador Chuah took the opportunity to update the President Kuchma on the current development of Malaysia-Ukraine relations and the prospects for growth. In his remarks, H. E. President Kuchma offered to assist whichever possible to further strengthening the bilateral partnership between Malaysia and Ukraine.

Given that President Kuchma had played a significant and vital role in Ukrainian national building, H.E. Ambassador Chuah took the opportunity to discuss the prospects of Ukrainian domestic and foreign policies, especially regarding Ukrainian aspirations to revive cooperation with South East Asia countries, particularly with Malaysia.
