Ambassador Chuah meets MaYor of chudniv town
At the invitation of H.E. Maksim Samchek, Mayor of Chudniv town, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Chuah Teong Ban visited the town, some 190 km away south west of Kyiv city on 8 June 2012. Upon arrival, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was warmly welcomed in a traditional and colourful bread–salt ceremony, the highest honour given to any dignitary at the main entrance of the city hall.
After the call on the Mayor, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was briefed on the economic potential of the region and also investment opportunities available in the town and surrounding districts. He also had a townhall meeting with senior officials, local dignitaries and top local businessmen. During the townhall meeting, H.E. Ambassador Chuah took the opportunity to share with the local audience more about Malaysia and its successful story in the long 55-year process of nationhood building.
H.E. Ambassador Chuah also had a radio interview with a local radio network which was broadcasted on the same evening. The interview covered bilateral relations between Malaysia and Ukraine, Ambassador’s perception of Chudniv town and its potential as well as possible areas of economic cooperation.
