Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Chuah Teong Ban made a working visit to Nemirov town, Vinnitsa Oblast, some 350 km south west of Kyiv city on 10 August 2012. Upon arrival at the town gateway, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was honoured with a simple yet traditional bread–salt welcoming ceremonyby the mayor and senior officials.
Nemirov Mayor, Mr. Petro Mikhaelenko briefed H.E. Ambassador Chuah on the economic potential and investment opportunities available in the town and surrounding districts. After the briefing, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was taken for tour of the facilities of Avangrad Sanatorium as arranged by Gano Excel Dnepr, local agent of a Malaysian company, Gano eWorldWide whose commercial products comprised health supplements of Ganoderma. The Gano Excel Dnepr officials were keen to explore the possibility of a smart partnership with the sanatorium to introduce Malaysian herbal health products to its patrons as part of their treatment.
As the town is the home to a renowned vodka brand, Nemirov Vodka (fourth largest global producer), a special tour of the plant was arranged.
H.E. Ambassador Chuah was interviewed by local journalists on the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Ukraine, Ambassador’s perception of Nimerov town and its potential as well as possible areas of economic cooperation.
