AMBASSADOR CHUAH TOURS LARGEST PALM OIL REFINERY IN UKRAINE

 

 
 

 

 

H.E. Mr. Chuah Teong Ban, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine visited the largest palm oil refinery plant in Ukraine, Delta Wilmar CIS Ltd, on 1 March 2012 during his working visit to the second largest Ukraine city, Odessa. This port city in the Black Sea is the gateway for all Malaysian palm oil imports to Ukraine, Russia and CIS market. This joint venture company, involving Singapore, Russia and Ukraine investments, procured about 300,000 metric tons of palm oil from Malaysia annually.

 

During the visit, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was briefed by the senior management on the background and organization structure of the company, its refinery capabilities and facilities, product range, oil and fats market potentials, consumer trends and its future expansion plan. After the presentation, H.E. Ambassador Chuah was taken on a factory tour of the various facilities: refinery fractionating tower, storage areas, silos, bonded ware house, products exhibition space and various blending stations to make margarine, mayonnaise, shortening fats and edible oil products.

 

H.E. Ambassador Chuah urged Delta Wilmar CIS Ltd to import more palm oil from Malaysia in the coming years as Malaysian palm oil is of premium quality.
