In keeping with the tradition of marking the auspicious occasion of the establishment of ASEAN, Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam in Kyiv observed the Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 8 August 2018. This year’s ASEAN Day celebration was hosted by the Embassy of Indonesia.
In his brief remarks, Prof. Dr. Yuddy Chrisnandi, M.F., Ambassador of Indonesia to Ukraine, highlighted how ASEAN is central in maintaining the peace and security of the region amidst the growing uncertainties in the global landscape. The Indonesian Ambassador also noted that ASEAN’s theme this year under the Chairmanship of Singapore, “Resilience and Innovation”, envisions a well-equipped ASEAN in facing the rapid change in technology driven economy.
