ASEAN Embassies in Kiev, Ukraine gathered for a day filled with activities to commemorate the 48th ASEAN Day. The ASEAN Day is a celebration to mark the formation of the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) on 8 August 1967.
The gathering which was held on 25 August 2015 involving the staff and families of ASEAN Embassies namely Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam started with the hoisting ceremony of the ASEAN flag accompanied by the ASEAN anthem, “The ASEAN Way”. The day then went on with various games, a picnic-style lunch and cultural performance.
The organisation of the ASEAN Day in Kiev is in line with the spirit of solidarity of ASEAN, especially as ASEAN becomes and integrated community under the establishment of ASEAN Community by the end of 2015.
