In compliance with ASEAN protocol procedures, the Embassy of Malaysia has hosted ASEAN flag at the Chancery and Residence permanently with effect from 8 August 2012. The ceremony of hoisting the flag was undertaken to coincide with the occasion of 45th Anniversary of ASEAN Day with a view of promoting greater awareness and visibility of ASEAN in other non-ASEAN capitals. The staff of the Embassy of Malaysia led by H.E. Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban witnessed this auspicious and solemn occasion.
In a related event, H.E. Mr. Chuah Teong Ban, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine joined his other ASEAN Ambassadorial colleagues to celebrate ASEAN Day at a reception hosted by the Embassy of Vietnam in Ukraine. All ASEAN nationals in Kyiv were invited to the 45th ASEAN Day celebration which has provided a good platform for forging the spirit of ASEAN Community building. Such get together was important in promoting closer friendship, understanding and people to people contacts among ASEAN community in Ukraine.
