On 3-7 August 2019, Tijan Galaxy Aerospace Consortium (TGAC) from Malaysia undertook a working visit to Ukraine. The delegation was led by YBhg Dato’ Shafiee Mahat, Chairman of TGAC and comprised of two other officials, Dr Ku Azhar Ku Abdul Razak, Director of TGAC and Encik Muhamad Nurazmi Abas, Executive Director (Technical) of TGAC.

TGAC is a consortium of two companies - Gading Aero (M) Sdn Bhd and TGAC Network Partners Sdn Bhd, both with 20 years of experience in the fields of aerospace, aviation, maintenance, repair and over haul (MRO), telecommunication and manufacturing. TGAC aspires to become a key player in the Asian region and Commonwealth in space technology.

Meanwhile on 5 August 2019, a meeting took place in the Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv between TGAC’s officials, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Yuzhmash, Kyiv Radio Plant, Space Initiatives Center, the State Space Agency of Ukraine and Chairman of the Space Parliamentary Group of Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s Parliament). The Ukrainian side was led by Mr. Yuriy Brovchenko, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

Both sides exchanged views and explored possible co-operation in the field of aerospace technology. The aerospace industry in Malaysia is expected to grow between 10-15% this year due to an increase in manufacturing activities, largely in the aero structure and engine components as well as MRO.
