Business Potentials in Sumy Await Malaysian Businessmen

To promote Malaysian products to Ukrainian business community, delegation of the Embassy of Malaysia, led by H.E. Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban visited Sumy on July9th, 2015. The regional visit was organized by Sumy Regional State Administration and MATRADE Kiev office. H.E. Ambassador Chuah met with the Sumy Governor Mr. Mykola Klochko, President of Sumy Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Konstantin Makarenko, local authorities and media representatives.

During the meeting, both sides discussed economic cooperation, trade and investment opportunities in Sumy, which has strong industrial platform as well as the measures to restore economic stability in Ukraine. A list of 108 investment proposals was extended to Malaysian delegation. The Governor expressed interest to lead a visit to Malaysia comprising local Sumy businessmen to take part in the MATRADE sponsored events.

During the visit to Sumy, H.E. Ambassador Chuah made industrial visits to 3 local companies, specialized in production of sunflower oil, turkey meat production and milk powder. Management of the companies showcased their products, opened technologies, management style and future development plans. H.E. Ambassador Chuah also impressed upon the companies management to use Malaysian products as the ingredients to their food products. Catalogues of Malaysian food industry and exporters of palm oil, sauces and condiments were given to them.
