On 8 January 2020, the “Orphans Are Our Children” international charity fund organisation held the Christmas and New Year’s celebration at Kyiv’s Premier Palace Hotel. The Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah was delighted to be invited to the New Year and Christmas event that the Embassy of Malaysia had supported for many years.
The organization has been organising such celebrations for Ukrainian orphans in Kyiv for the past eight years, where orphans from all over Ukraine attended the celebration, accompanied by their guardians. The entertainment program featured dance, music and magic show. Christmas festive dinner was also served while the children had opportunity to mingle with distinguished guests, including Ambassadors.
The Malaysian ambassador in his remarks at the event noted that orphans’ life is often challenging particularly after leaving the foster system. He encouraged the children to embrace a strong set of values and always stay true to them.
