His Excellency Datuk Ayauf Bachi, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine hosted a high-tea at the Embassy of Malaysia on 14 September 2017 which saw the Friends of Malaysia coming together to mark the 25th year of the establishment of Malaysia-Ukraine diplomatic relations.
The informal gathering provided an excellent platform to update the guests - who have been instrumental in the developments of Malaysia-Ukraine friendly relations - on the cooperation milestones between the two countries in areas such as trade, tourism as well as international peace and security. The guests also viewed a special video presentation on Malaysia’s 60 Years of Diplomacy.
About 60 Friends of Malaysia attended the event and among them were Ukrainian Members of Parliament as well as representatives from business & investment organisations, media establishments, civil societies and religious institutions. The guests were content about an evening well spent with new and old friends while treating themselves to the delectable spread of Malaysian cuisine and the sounds of Malaysian traditional music playing in the background.
Such outreach programme is a hallmark of Malaysia’s public diplomacy and the Embassy looks forward to continue engaging, where experiences and ideas could be shared, with our Friends of Malaysia.
