On 25 August 2020, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine paid a courtesy call on Ms Emine Dzhaparova, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kyiv. The ambassador took the opportunity to convey the best wishes from the Government and people of Malaysia to the Ukrainian Government and people in conjunction with the 29th Independence Day of Ukraine celebrated on 24 August 2020. Ms Dzhaparova and the ambassador expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries particularly economic cooperation. Besides bilateral issues, both discussed and exchanged views on the situation in Crimea including the discussion of the issue at the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Ms. Dzhaparova was appointed as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in June this year, making her the first Crimean Tatar woman to hold a very important post in the Government of Ukraine.
