On 20 May 2021, H.E Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah paid a courtesy call on Mr. Volodymyr Bugrov, Rector of Taras Shevchenko University who was appointed in March 2021. During the courtesy call the Ambassador conveyed the support of the Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv, Ukraine the establishment of the ASEAN Study Centre by the University and reiterated the commitment of the Embassy to participate in the activities of the Centre. The Ambassador expressed hope that the Centre would facilitate greater people-to-people interaction and enhance ASEAN-Ukraine relations.
The Ambassador also presented a personal contribution, a framed Songket to be displayed at the Centre. The Songket fabric is created by the weaving of silk or cotton yarn woven together with gold thread or silver thread. The Centre is expected to be launched in June 2021.
