COURTESY CALL ON THE ACTING MAYOR OF KREMENCHUK CITY

29 September 2015 1 views

The Ambassadors of Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam jointly paid a courtesy call on Mr. Viktor Kalashnyk, First Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor of Kremenchuk City on 21 September 2015.

During the call, the two sides exchanged ideas to enhance cooperation between Kremenchuk City and the three countries, particularly in the economic sphere. The Ambassadors welcomed the interest expressed by the Kremenchuk City administration to explore potential economic cooperation in the effort to diversify and reinvigorate Kremenchuk’s industrial activities.

Kremenchuk City had emerged as one of Ukraine’s most important industrial cities after the World War II. The city became an industrial hub for truck-manufacturing, chemical and agricultural but they are now in the decline due to old technology coupled with the political and economic instability in Ukraine. Faced with this predicament, the local administration is undertaking strategic developmental plans to reinvigorate the local industries by inviting foreign investments to Kremenchuk City especially in new areas such as green technology.
