Educational Tour to sunflower oil plant
In an effort to know more about sunflower oil industry in Ukraine and the complementary relationship between palm oil and sunflower oil, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Chuah Teong Ban embarked on a working visit to the largest regional sunflower oil integrated plant, Creative Industrial Group, located in Kirovograd, some 300 km southeast of Kyiv on 17 July 2012. H.E. Ambassador Chuah was accompanied by MATRADE marketing officer and a staff.
Mr. Aleksander Boiko, the CEO of the plant warmly greeted H.E. Ambassador Chuah and delegation before proceeded to brief on the structure of the plant, its capacity, product range and the various stages of manufacturing. Creative Industrial Group, which is a top oil and fats market leader in Ukraine, imported some 60,000 ton of RBD palm oil from Malaysia annually to blend with sunflower oil to manufacture various consumer products. H.E. Ambassador Chuah and delegation later toured the facilities to witness first-hand the various stages of processing sunflower oil from separation to crushing and finally pressing to extract the oil content from sunflower kernel. The visit to the plant was very educational especially when Malaysian palm oil is used to blend with sunflower oil to produce various consumer end products.
