EVACUATION OF MALAYSIANS STRANDED IN UKRAINE

Following the suspension of outbound and inbound international flights at Boryspil International Airport, Kyiv since 17 March 2020 aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19, a number of Malaysians mainly tourists were left stranded in Ukraine. On 26 March 2020, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) decided to provide special flights to a limited destinations including Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and London (Gatwick) to give the last opportunity to foreigners who are stranded in Ukraine to leave Kyiv. H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine as well as the staff of the Embassy of Malaysia were at Boryspil International Airport to assist the departure of a group of stranded Malaysians who departed Kyiv via Kyiv-Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur route.
