On 28-30 March 2018, Tourism Malaysia office based in Istanbul, Turkey took part in the annual Ukraine International Travel and Tourism (UITT) 2018 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Malaysia’s booth disseminated brochures and campaign materials showcasing the unique wonders and attractions of Malaysia as an outstanding tourist destination. In addition, Tourism Malaysia officers provided market advice to potential tour operators and airlines that were interested to collaborate in promoting holiday packages to Malaysia.

Malaysia’s booth received overwhelming response and inquiries from the exhibition’s visitors. Malaysia’s island and beaches product, in particular Langkawi, was the most popular amongst the Ukrainian visitors.

In 2017, 13,068 Ukrainians visited Malaysia, marking the seventh consecutive year of increased Ukrainian tourist arrivals to Malaysia. Thus, Tourism Malaysia’s participation in the UITT is expected to further boost tourist arrivals from Ukraine with the Visit Malaysia 2020 in sight.

UITT is Ukraine’s largest international tourism exhibition. More than 250 national and international tour operators from 25 countries presented a huge variety of routes for domestic, inbound and outbound tourism.
