H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine had a meeting with Mr. Vladyslav Danilin Yuriyovych, a member of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s Parliament) representing “People’s Front” political party on 1 August 2019.
In the meeting, Mr. Danilin outlined the perspectives for the further development of Ukraine-Malaysia bilateral relations, particularly in the field of trade (import/export). He informed the Ambassador that Ukraine is interested food products including tropical fruits, frozen seafood and coconut oil from Malaysia.
Among other issues of interest to Malaysia, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza took the opportunity to highlight on the draft law to ban the use of palm oil in food production that has been adopted at the first reading at the Verkhovna Rada in May 2018.
Mr. Danilin also mooted the idea of holding a business forum in Ukraine in which Malaysian businessmen would be invited and proposed the exchange of visits between MPs of both countries in the near future, through the Ukraine-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Verkhovna Rada’s new setup.
