On 1 September 2020, a flag raising ceremony was held at the Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv on the occasion of the 63rd National Day of Malaysia which is celebrated on the 31 August of every year. The hoisting of ‘Jalur Gemilang’, the national flag of Malaysia was accompanied by the national anthem of Malaysia, ‘Negaraku’ sang by officers and staff of the embassy. ‘Malaysia Prihatin’ or Malaysia Cares was chosen as the theme for this year’s National Day as recognition of the caring, determined and patient nature of Malaysians in facing trials and tribulations presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
