GEORGIA: TRAVEL ADVISORY
Entry and Exit Requirements:
- Commercial air travel to Georgia is suspended until July 31. Georgian citizens, their non-Georgian dependents, and diplomats will still be allowed to enter and will be quarantined for 14 days.
- The Government of Georgia announced that foreigners who were legally in Georgia on March 14, 2020, and were not able to leave the country due to the closure of borders as part of the State of Emergency, may remain until July 31, 2020 with no penalty.
- All land borders remain closed to passenger travel with the exception of Georgian citizens returning to Georgia or citizens of neighboring countries returning to their home countries.
Quarantine Information:
- On April 2020, the Ministry of Health announced that patients who show mild symptoms associated with COVID-19 be treated from home and only hospitalized if their medical condition aggravates.
- Anyone who recently traveled to any area with a significant number of infections remain in voluntary isolation for two weeks, even if they do not have symptoms.
The Georgian government has a hotline dedicated to COVID-19; prospective travelers can call “144” to receive up-to-date information in English or Georgian.
