The Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv joined more than two hundred Ukrainians in the World Cleanup Day 2020 (WCD) event held on 19 September 2020 at Muromets Park, Kyiv. H.E. Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and several ambassadors were also present at the event. H.E. Ambassador Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah and his wife, Datin Roslina Ismail, as well as other staff from the Malaysian Embassy took part in the activity as part of the embassy’s community service to help make the city clean and to support efforts to protect the environment. Following COVID-19, during the cleanup event the organisers have put in place safety and hygiene measures to protect the participants. WCD is the largest single civic-waste action in history, aimed at raising awareness of the scale of global mismanaged waste crisis threatening the environment and the lives of millions of people by mobilizing all spheres of society to participate in cleanup programmes. Last year, 180 countries and 20 million people participated in various activities that were organised in their respective countries.
