H.E.Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban lectures students at Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine
At the invitation of the Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine H.E.Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban on 8 November 2011 gave a lecture to the faculty members and students of Diplomatic Academy on ASEAN Integration and Challenges.
In his lecture, H.E.Ambassador Chuah outlined the brief historical developments of ASEAN, including the adoption of ASEAN Charter, organization structures, institutional mechanisms on decision making, various stages of integration process and implementation of the various blueprints as well as the future challenges of ASEAN beyond 2015. H.E. Ambassador Chuah presented the ASEAN lecture from Malaysia’s perspective and view point especially Malaysia’s inputs towards consolidation of ASEAN in the past years.
The lecture was well received by the students as evidenced from the many questions posed. It has also successfully arose interest among the international relations and diplomacy students to learn more about ASEAN with a view to adopting ASEAN’s experiences as possible towards Ukraine’s pursuit to join European integration.
