His Excellency Chuah Teong Ban, Ambassador of Malaysia warmly welcomed by mayor of Berdychiv city, Zhytomyr oblast
H.E.Chuah Teong Ban, Ambassador of Malaysia in Ukraine made an official visit to Berdychiv city in Zhytomyr oblast at the invitation of Mr.Vasyl Mazur, Mayor of Berdychiv on Thursday, 6 October 2011. Upon arrival at the city, H.E.Ambassador Chuah was warmly greeted in a traditional and colorful ceremony of breaking bread and salt at the entrance of the city hall.
After the courtesy call on Mayor of Berdychiv city, H.E.Ambassador Chuah had a close door meeting with about 50 citizens of Berdychiv comprising both Regional and City Council members, local captains of industries, dignitaries and mass media. At the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Chuah briefed on the progress and development of Malaysia, status of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Ukraine and outlined potential areas of collaboration between Malaysia and Berdychiv city. On outreach program to create awareness on Malaysia, the Mayor invited H.E.Ambassador Chuah to visit Berdychiv next year to address an assembly of youth on Malaysian culture, history and economy.
