As part of Malaysia’s Outreach and Public Diplomacy Programme, the Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv hosted a visit by 37 students from Kremenchuk City on 13 October 2015. The students have expressed their keen interest to learn more about Malaysia when the Ambassador of Malaysia visited Kremenchuk City in September 2015 to be the guest speaker at the Youth Diplomatic Assembly. Such school visit is a beneficial platform in fostering people-to-people ties between Malaysia and Ukraine.
Counsellor Rina Hanis Rodzli briefed the visiting students on Malaysia’s demography, political system, culture and places of interest. The students were enthusiastic and participated actively in asking questions. They were particularly interested to know about the school system and popular trends in Malaysia, famous Malaysians and cultural similarities between Malaysia and Ukraine. The Ukrainian students were also delighted to have the chance to experience first-hand Malaysian cuisine whereby the “Kek Gula Hangus” was a big hit amongst the students.
