On 11 March 2020, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine hosted a working luncheon in Kyiv for several Members of Parliament of Verkhovna Rada (Parliament of Ukraine). Present at the lunch were Ms. Tsyba Tetiana Viktorivna and Mr. Halaichuk Vadym Serhiiovych from the Servant of the People’s party as well as Ms. Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze from the European Solidarity’s party.
The Ambassador briefed the Members of Parliament on the recent change in the Malaysian government including the appointment of Honourable Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the new Prime Minister of Malaysia on 1 March 2020 and the formation of the new Malaysian Cabinet on 10 March 2020. The Ambassador also updated the parliamentarians measures taken by the Malaysian government to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 including the launching of economic stimulus package amounting to USD$ 4.8 billion last month. In addition, during the lunch they also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest including trade and investment.
