The Embassy of Malaysia in Ukraine in collaboration with the Embassies of Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Pakistan and Viet Nam organised the second ASIAN FOOD AND CULTURE FESTIVAL 2014 on 8 November 2014 at The Ukrainian House, Kyiv from 13.00 to 18.00 hours. H.E. Ambassador of Malaysia, Mr. Chuah Teong Ban was given the honour to make the opening remarks. The festival was a success with strong participation from the Ukrainian public. It’s main objective of promoting greater awareness about the uniqueness and the diversity of Asian food, culture, arts and social life among the people in Ukraine was achieved.
The culture of Malaysia was prominent showcased during the festival. The staff of the Embassy of Malaysia wore traditional dress. Malaysian culinary specialities were served, such as Curry Puff, Banana Cake, Onde-Onde, and TehTarik. To further promote Malaysia, brochures on Tourism Malaysia and Visit Malaysia Year 2014 were also distributed, besides the public screening of the tourism promotional videos.
All proceeds from the sales of food and cultural items at the various national booths went to charitable causes.
