At the initiative of Honourable Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, the Malaysia’s Diplomatic Equipment Stockpile (MDES) was launched on 30 March 2020. As we are facing unprecedented global pandemic, Malaysian diplomats serving at 106 Malaysian missions abroad act as frontliners and are at risk of being exposed to Covid-19. This initiative allows individuals, private sector and organisations to contribute essential medical equipments for Malaysian diplomatic frontliners abroad.
Diplomatic frontliners are facing a challenging task in assisting Malaysian citizens stranded abroad especially in countries that are severely impacted by Covid-19. Hence, they need to be protected with adequate protection such as face masks, medical gloves and sanitisers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and the Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv, Ukraine welcome contributions from individuals, corporations and organisations to MDES. We wish to thank to those who have contributed to MDES for their generosity. Stay safe.
