MALAYSIA-UKRAINE VIRTUAL BUSINESS CONFERENCE

The first ever Malaysia-Ukraine virtual business conference (webinar) was successfully held on 6 October 2020. The “Malaysia-Ukraine : New Markets New Opportunities (Post Covid-19)” webinar was co-organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia (MITI), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Honourable Datuk Lim Ban Hong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia and H.E. Dmytro Senik, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine gave the opening remarks. The panelists who took part in the webinar were H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Olexander Nechytaylo, Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia and Mr. Jude Bryan Dass, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE in Warsaw who is the Malaysian Trade Commissioner responsible for the Ukrainian market. Approximately 350 Malaysian and Ukrainian companies/participants from various industries including agriculture, food and beverage, timber, furniture, IT, security products, medical equipments, cosmetics, confectionery, metal, electronic, palm oil and oleochemicals participated in the webinar. The virtual business conference represents a significant milestone and heralds a new beginning in forging a strong Malaysia-Ukraine trade relations.
