On 9 October 2020, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine hosted a dinner for the alumnus of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP). It was attended by MTCP alumnus, mainly officials from various government ministries and agencies. Present also at the dinner was Mr. Yevhen Pikalov, Director General of the Asia Pacific Department (Fourth Territorial Department) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Malaysian Ambassador updated the MTCP alumnus on the current political situation and economic development in Malaysia, as well as effort and measures undertaken by the Malaysian authorities to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Ukraine was officially accepted as the 144th Recipient Country of MTCP in 2018. Since then, many Ukrainian officials from the public and private sectors have been attending courses in Malaysia in various technical fields funded by the Malaysian government.
