Presentation of Copies of Letters of Credence by Ambassador of Malaysia to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

The fifth Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Dato’ Raja Reza Raja Zaib Shah presented copies of his Letters of Credence to Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on 6 September 2018. Mr. Kyslytsya congratulated H.E. Dato’ Raja Reza on his appointment and gave his assurance that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stands ready to extend its support in the fulfilment of Dato’ Raja Reza’s assignment in Kyiv. 

 

At the outset, Dato’ Raja Reza congratulated and welcomed Ukraine as the 144th Recipient Country of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP).  As a Recipient Country, Ukrainian officials are now able to partake in the various capacity building programmes and technical assistance offered by Malaysia through the MTCP. This heralds a new chapter in Malaysia-Ukraine bilateral relations. 
 
During the course of the meeting, both sides reflected on the state of bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Ukraine. Mr. Kyslytsya and H.E. Dato’ Raja Reza acknowledged that there are many opportunities to deepen and expand cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism, education and defence. Mr. Kyslytsya also highlighted the importance to enhance cooperation between the two countries at the international fora, in particular the United Nations. 
 
In concluding the meeting, both sides expressed commitment to reinforce Malaysia-Ukraine ties, and forge new ones.
