President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine visited the Embassy of Malaysia on 20 July 2014 to pay special tribute to the victims of the tragic MH17 flight. He signed the Condolence Book at the Embassy to express his deep sadness on the unfortunate loss of lives and also extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the government and people of Malaysia, in particular the bereaved families of the Malaysian victims.
Upon arrival President Poroshenko paused at the front of the Chancery to join his fellow Ukrainians in laying a bouquet of flowers as a symbol of solidarity with the people of Malaysia in this moment of pain and sorrow. He also offered a moment of prayer to the souls of those perished in the MH17 accident.
Also present at the Embassy to receive President Poroshenko were Malaysian Foreign Minister, YB Dato Sri AnifahAman and Malaysian Transport Minister YB Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban and his staff.
