The ASEAN Embassies in Kiev comprising Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam observed the International Peace Day in Kremenchuk City on 21 September. The event was also attended by the local administrative senior officials, Ukrainian veterans of World War II and students from colleges in Ukraine.
H.E. Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban has the privilege to address and participate in the activities to mark the solemn event. The activities included laying of wreath and the striking of the World Peace Gong to observe a minute of silence to honour the fallen heroes of the World War II and the recent armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. Meanwhile, H.E. Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban in his remarks has urged all parties to work harder to restore peace and ensure that peace is maintained through mutual respect, tolerance and dialogue.
Peace is indeed invaluable and lasting peace is the common desire of all citizens of the world.
