In our continuous efforts to promote Malaysian trade in Ukraine, Malaysian Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Chuah Teong Ban led a delegation comprising MALTRADE Marketing officer made a visit to a top chocolate and biscuit producer, “Zhitomirski Lasoschi” on 8 July 2014 in Zhitomir region.
The Malaysian delegation had a meeting with the top management of “Zhitomirski Lasoschi” and was later given a tour of the plant. It was indeed heartening to learn that this plant uses many Malaysian food ingredients, particularly palm oil/fat, cocoa beans and cocoa butter substitute, in the production of confectionary. Last year, the company imported US$ 300,000 worth of food ingredients from Malaysia because they are satisfied with the high quality of the Malaysia food ingredients.
Encouraged by the reliable and premium quality of Malaysian products, the company is now exploring on the possibility of importing other food ingredients from Malaysia to create new confectionary products for both local consumers and export markets. H.E. Ambassador Chuah then presented the company with some promotional catalogues of Malaysian food industry for their consideration.
