On 8 April 2021, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine participated in a Videoconference (VC) between the MFAs of Malaysia and Georgia hosted by YBhg. Dato' Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, Undersecretary, Europe Division, MFA Malaysia. The Georgian delegation was led by H. E. Ambassador David Kereselidze, Director, Department of Asia and Pacific, MFA Georgia. H.E. Nikoloz Apkhazava, the Ambassador of Georgia to Malaysia also took part in the VC. The meeting among others discussed a wide range of issues including trade and investment, pending bilateral Memorandums of Understanding as well as possible post-COVID-19 cooperation. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the total Malaysia-Georgia bilateral trade volume in 2020 recorded a positive growth. Both sides expressed the hope that the Malaysia-Georgia bilateral cooperation could reach its full potential and reach greater heights.
