Foremost, I like to welcome and thank you for your kind participation at this memorable commemorative event of the 20th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Ukraine. To celebrate the Anniversary, the Embassy has specially published a book entitled “Malaysia through Ukrainian Eyes”, which I believe may be the first book in Ukrainian language of its kind.
2. This book is a memoir of an Ukrainian author, Professor Volodymyr Mosorov, who has spent with his family six months in Malaysia working at the Malaysian Nuclear Agency in Kuala Lumpur. “Malaysia through Ukrainian Eyes” can also be a useful guide for those who intend to travel to Malaysia or eager to learn more about this diverse country of mine.
3. Later today, you will have a chance to hear for yourself first-hand information from the author himself. Professor Mosorow will tell you more on his experience and sincere testimonies during his stay in Malaysia. In general, his book contains many stories about the diversity of Malaysian lifestyle and way of life which is a fusion of various cultures and traditions.
4. Besides the book by Professor Mosorov, we are also organizing a seminar on Malaysian tourism which will help you to discover more about Malaysia. In this regard, Tourism Malaysia will be presenting you with a range of Malaysian tourism products along the tagline “Malaysia Truly Asia”.

5. During my one year stay in Ukraine, I found that there are not many literatures available about Malaysia, particularly in Ukrainian language. I like to encourage more Ukrainians to promote Malaysia in Ukraine and I am open to suggestions and ideas towards this end. Should anyone who is able to come out with a book or a translation of an existing book in the field of Malaysian literature or memoirs of prominent Malaysian public figures, I would be most happy to consider and work closely to ensure that it is published. Perhaps, next year we will be presenting another book about Malaysia by another Ukrainian.
