The 1Malaysia World Endurance Ride 2013 (1MWER 2013) bikers comprised of Y.Bhg. Dato’ Zamri Mohamed (Team Leader/Program Director), Mr. Rosmadi Saad (Program Coordinator), Mr. Mohd Faizal Shukree (Route Leader) and Mr. Sutheer Ahmad Khunjoo (Cameraman) entered California, United States through Mexico on Friday, 23 May 2014.
1MWER 2013 is a world endurance tour by Malaysian riders to promote the message of global moderation for peace visioned by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak who is the Patron of this special project.
In Los Angeles, California the team made a Courtesy Call on the Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Nekmat Ismail at the Chancery on Tuesday, 27 May 2014. The Consul General and wife later hosted a dinner in honour of the team at their residence in San Marino, California on Thursday, 29 May 2014.
A flag off ceremony for the team was held on Saturday, 31 May 2014 at the Redondo Beach, California. The onward trip took the bikers to northern California through the scenic Pacific Coast Highway and some parts of Freeway 101 that took them, among others, to San Francisco and Eureka in northern California, Oregon State and finally Washington State, before entering Vancouver, Canada through Seattle.
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles is honoured to be part of this special project to promote Malaysia at the global stage.
