The Consulate General is monitoring news regarding the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Northern California in Humboldt County. The earthquake was felt as far south as San Francisco, where residents experienced a rolling motion for several seconds. A tsunami warning had also been issued for coastal areas in California and Oregon, including San Francisco, but it was cancelled just before noon local time. The United States Geological Survey has advised the residents in the affected areas to be prepared for aftershocks in the coming days and week.
