Consul General Nekmat Ismail and wife, Mrs. Ramlah Hamid attended the Diplomats Diversi-Tea Gala held on 25th April 2012 at the Celebrity Centre in the Pavillion Hall Hollywood. Three Consuls General i.e. from Malaysia, South Africa, and Costa Rica were the 2012 Honoree and were invited to speak about their country's cultural and tourists attractions as well as a video presentation of their respective countries. The host for the event was Ms. April Sutton, a popular TV host, and Hollywood Socialite who is also the founder of the Diplomats Diversi-Tea Gala.
Ms. April Sutton met with Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Najib Tun Razak in New York during the 65th Session of the UNGA. She was impressed with the 1 Malaysia phylosophy which YAB Prime Minister had mentioned in his speech during the 65th UNGA Session and decided to invite the Consul General of Malaysia to share Malaysia's cultural treasures and its experience of unity in diversity. The presentation from Consul General of Malaysia had indeed received a warm response from the audience who were mostly from the entertainment circle.
