EARTHQUAKE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, DECEMBER 20, 2022
Earlier today, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake shook parts of Northern California. At least two people were killed, several injuries and tens of thousands left without electricity. It was also reported that the earthquake caused damages to buildings and roads.
According to US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 2.34 am near Ferndale, a small community about 213 miles (345 kilometers) northwest of San Francisco and close to the Pacific coast. The temblor was followed by at least two dozen aftershocks -the strongest registered at a magnitude of 4.6, several minutes after the initial quake. No tsunami was expected.
