Education Malaysia Los Angeles (EMLA) organized the 2012 Winter Games for Malaysian students in the western region of the United States from 23 – 25 November 2012 in Pomona and Arcadia, California.
Students from 12 universities and colleges from and around California, Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming took part in the five sports tournaments i.e. volleyball, soccer, badminton, table tennis and bowling.
Home-based staff and locally recruited staff of the Consulate General of Malaysia also participated in the two-day events.
Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Nekmat Ismail officiated the opening and closing ceremony of the event. A meeting with the students representatives from the 12 universities and college chaired by Consul General was held before the closing ceremony on 25 November 2012.
