Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles Mr. Nekmat Ismail and wife attended the International Committee of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association Appreciation Lunch hosted at the home of one of its member in Malibu, California on the 23rd May 2012. The lunch was held in appreciation to those who had contributed in the association's Benefit Ball honoring Italy which was held on the 5th May 2012 as part of their fund raising projects. Consul General of Malaysia had also participated in the silent auction held during the Benefit Ball by contributing an item which was a Malaysian made pewter plate featuring fascinating Malaysia.
The International Committee of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association held its Benefit Ball annually since 1994 to honor the Consular Corps members and spotlighting a special country. The association's Benefit Ball honoring Malaysia was successfully held in 2005.
The association holds its meeting every month and the wives/spouses of the Consuls General based in Los Angeles are special members of the International Committee to foster international goodwill and understanding through the universal voice of music.
