The Malaysia Association of Southern California (MASC) hosted a Merdeka Night on Saturday, 1 September 2012 at the Garvey Community Centre, Rosemead, California.
The Guest of Honor for the event was the Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Mr. Nekmat Ismail. The highlight of the evening was the traditional costume contest won by Mrs. Peggy Cho who wore a pink colour silk Chinese Cheongsum. Everyone had an enjoyable evening on this special occasion to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Independence Day of Malaysia.
